The 2017 Red wine was born from a sweltering and arid summer that allowed the grapes to be overripe on the vine: the result is unique, a wine that stands up to comparison with the best “champions” of Tuscany. 100% Sangiovese, ten days maceration on the skins, six months ageing in steel, 24 months of ageing in third passage barriques. It has a bright ruby colour tending towards garnet. It is characterized by a rich bouquet of cherries and spices. The flavour is robust but dry, savoury and fresh with a good load of tannins. Excellent persistence. Alcohol content over 14% Perfect to accompany important dishes such as grilled red meats, risottos, savoury foods, soups and aged cheeses but also for the whole meal.

Vinification

During the fermentation in stainless steel tanks, extreme attention was given to an extraction of aromas, full colors, and supple, elegant textures and tannins. During the fermentation the must is mixed by hand four times/day. At the end of the fermentation, it was put in steel tanks for a natural clarification. The aging process, which lasted 24 months, took place in 224 liters French oak barriques used three times previously.
